“And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers.” (51:55)

On the Prohibition of Music

وَمِنَ النَّاسِ مَنْ يَشْتَرِي لَهْوَ الْحَدِيثِ لِيُضِلَّ عَنْ سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بِغَيْرِ عِلْمٍ وَيَتَّخِذَهَا هُزُوًا أُولَئِكَ لَهُمْ عَذَابٌ مُهِينٌ
“From amongst men there are those who purchase ‘lahw al hadith’ without knowledge, to mislead from the Path of Allah and they ridicule it. For them there is a humiliating punishment.” (Luqmân: 6)

A detailed research has been made by Maulana Ismail Moosa, a student from the Darul Iftaa of Madrasa In’aamiyyah (Camperdown, SA), and it of course has been approved by the respected Mufti Ebrahim Desai (damat barkatuhum aliah).

تنبيه للاحباء الى تحريم الغناء (trans. A Caution for our Companions on the Prohibition of Music) is packed with evidences from both the Holy Qur’an and Ahadith. On top of that the verdicts of numerous Sahabah & Tabi’een, ‘Ulama of all four Madhab (and even Ghair Muqallid) and various recent ‘Ulama leave no space for doubts any longer.
