سمجھتا ہے خدا کو صرف جو حاجت روا اپنا ۔
وہ غیر اللہ کے در کا کبھی سائل نہیں ہوتا ۔

“Who understands Allah alone as one’s Hajat Rawa*,
will never be a suppliant at the doors of Ghairullah.”

* Hajat Rawa = The One who fulfills needs.

1. Memorizing the Holy Qur’an creates strength in the child’s intellectual skills.
2. The child and it’s parents, moreover the whole lineage is graced by honour and diginity.
3. Eternal salvation from poorness and hunger gained through the removing the shortness of sustenance. (content of a Hadith)
4. Parents will be given a crown on the Day of Judgement, whichs light will be more than that of the sun.
5. Through the blessings of memorizing the Qur’an one is protected from going astray and wrong beliefs.
6. The whole life will become ‘Ibaadah when one recites  in every situation some or other verses, because one has memorized the Holy Qur’an.
7. Through the blessings of the Holy Qur’an one is to a large extent protected from a life of game and play [Lahw wa La'ab].
8. By the intercession of a Hafiz 10 persons from his family are granted salvation. (provided that they are Muslims)
9. Allah Ta’ala appoints angels for the protection of a Hafiz-e-Qur’an.
10. A Hafiz will be granted the highest place of Jannah which he likes for himself.

Let your children by all means memorize the Holy Qur’an. A Hafiz child easily progresses in worldly education and the exams of the fifth grade become easy, too.

Hadhrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani دامت برکاتہم said,

“This idea has crept into and firmly settled on, our hearts that what the western nations are doing is worth emulation and the Sunnah of the Holy Prophet صلى الله عايه وسالم is – God forbid – an ordinary issue, unworthy of being followed. It is rather a hurdle and hindrance in the path of progress. Consider! What harm will fall on us if we take our food with the right hand?

Our malady is that the evil of slavery to the west has over-powered our minds. We have given up slavery to the Holy Prophet صلى الله عايه وسالم and become slaves to the western powers, with the natural result that we are living and dying in slavery. We have become entangled in this slavery so badly that we now see no way out of it.

The fact, however, remains that we cannot get out of this slavery, nor can we attain honour and superiority in this world unless we accept slavery to the Holy Prophet صلى الله عايه وسالم in the true sense and follow in his footsteps.”

Hadhrat Maulana Muhammad Taqi Usmani دامت برکاتہم once explained,

“The Noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them all) did not believe that there were insignificant and significant types of the Sunnah. Every Sunnah was significant and sublime in their eyes. They, therefore, took care to act upon each and every Sunnah.

In fact a little care exercised in religious matters makes a great addition to the stock of good deeds at the credit of a man. It is therefore, the bounden duty of every Muslim to act upon the Sunnah without differentiating between significant and insignificant Sunnah.”

While giving a lecture on Istikhara [consulting with Allah Ta'ala] Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani دامت برکاتہم told,

“I’ve seen my respected father Mufti-e-’Azam Pakistan Hadhrat Maulana Mufti Muhammad Shafi’ Sahab نوراللہ مرقدہ doing this [following] ‘Amal his whole life long. That whenever any issue arised in which a decision had to be made immediately and from two ways one had to be chosen, then at that time he used to close his eyes for a few moments.

Now, the person who was not aware of his habit had no idea what is happening while the eyes were closed. But in reality he would close his eyes and resort to Allah Ta’ala for a very short while and just inside his heart invoke Allah Ta’ala, ‘O Allah! This turmoil came up to me and I don’t understand what to decide. You put the thing in my heart, which according to You is better.’ That’s all, just inside the heart this little and brief Istikhara was done.”

Hadhrat Salman Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him) went outside of Madain and with him was a guest. Deers were running and birds were flying through the forest. He said, “Out of you one deer and one bird, come to me! Because a guest has come to me, who I have to entertain.” Both came and the person uttered ‘Subhan’Allah!’ Hadhrat Salman (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “Are you suprised at this? Have you ever seen a person obeying Allah Ta’ala and then anything is disobeying him?“

A mixed Arabic/Urdu poem recited by young Hafiz Sibghatullah (may Allah bless him abundantly).

Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Shafi’ Sahab رحمۃ اللہ علیہ narrates,

“Incidentally I got hold of a book in which Hadhrat Shaykh Muhyiuddin ibn ‘Arbi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ wrote about some affairs of Shaykh & dsiciple. All those Usuls [rules] of Tarbiyah took before place in Thana Bhawan.

I showed the book to Hadhrat [Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi رحمۃ اللہ علیہ]. Hadhrat very pleased said, ‘Thanks to Allah, I got support/evidence that these are not Bid’at [innovations].’”

Hadhrat Mufti Muhammad Taqi Usmani دامت برکاتہم narrates the following while giving a discourse on the Adaab [etiquettes] of drinking water:

Once Hadhrat Dr. Abdul Hayy Arifi Sahib رحمۃ اللہ علیہ related the following incident:

“Once I entered a mosque for prayer and was feeling thirsty. I took out water in a pot from the earthen jar provided in the mosque. According to my habit I sat down to drink the weter. A man who was standing nearby objected to this way of my drinking and told me that I could have as well drunk the water while standing. I told him that it was my habit to drink while sitting. The man retorted, saying that it ws a great virtue and honour to form the habit of  something which is a Sunnah of the Holy Prophet صلی اللہ علیہ و الہ سلم. The man was quite right. When a man is prone to form many habits he should try to form habits which are acts of the Sunnah and which are expected to earn for him great rewards and blessings from Almighty Allah.”
