“And keep reminding, because reminding benefits the believers.” (51:55)

Times of Using Miswak

Times or occasions at which it is Sunnah or Mustahabb to use Miswak are the following,

  1. After waking up from sleep
  2. At the time of making Wudhu
  3. For the recitation of Qur’an Majid
  4. For the reading/studying and teaching of Hadith Sharif
  5. At the time of bad breath coming from mouth or when the color of the teeth change
  6. At the time of standing for Salah, if much time passed from Wudhu till Salah
  7. Before doing Zikr Ilahi
  8. At the time of entering the Khana-e-Kaba or Hateem
  9. After entering your home
  10. Before coming together with your wife
  11. Before going to any Majlis-e-Khair
  12. At the time of feeling hungry or thirsty
  13. Before the signs of death appear
  14. At the time of Sehri
  15. Before eating food
  16. Before going for a journey
  17. After arriving from a journey
  18. Before sleeping

    we dont get miswak here in khi…do we…we are allowed to use miswak while we are fasting????coz my mommy doesnt let me brush my teeth after sehri…

    To use a Miswaak during fasting is not only permissible but Sunnah as well. (Fataawa Mahmoodiyyah vol 17 pg. 147) But it is Makhrooh (undesirable) to use flavored Miswaak during fasting.
